About GetMove

What we actually do

Long-distance moving is a market where the price is hidden until you have handed over your phone number. Most comparison sites gate the number behind a form, then sell your details to whoever bids most.

GetMove shows the number first. Enter a route and a home size and you get a cost range immediately, with a plain statement of where that range came from. If you then want binding quotes, we pass your details to licensed interstate carriers that cover your route.

How we are paid

Carriers pay for the referral. You pay nothing, and the price you are quoted is not increased to cover our fee. We do not rank carriers by what they pay us — carriers receive your details based on whether they are licensed for your route.

Where our numbers come from

Every cost figure is labelled with its source. Where we hold at least 25 completed moves on a route, we publish the middle half of what people actually paid. Everywhere else we publish a modelled estimate and say so plainly. The full method, including the model constants, is public.

What we do not claim

• We are not a moving company and perform no part of any move.
• We publish no carrier star ratings or review counts, because we run no review system.
• Our estimates are not quotes — only a carrier can give you a binding price.
• We do not claim awards, accreditations or certifications we do not hold.
